First Impressions: Earth Elements’ Turmeric and Lime Mask

Since puberty hit I’ve struggled with controlling my acne. Some weeks I have great skin other weeks the breakouts seem relentless. In the days of the latter I spent my time constantly researching new, affordable ways to improve my skin. Over the past months I’ve found products I finally can call my staples.
My cleanser of choice is African black soap with witch hazel as my toner and St. Ives apricot scrub as my exfoliant. To round out the group I use Top Care’s Oil of Beauty lotion for face with drop of tea tree oil as my moisturizer. While I have finally established a skincare routine I’ve been looking for a product to help fade my acne scars that seem to hate to leave my face. In my hunt it seemed that everywhere I turned turmeric popped up as a great natural skin lightener, perfect for hyper pigmentation caused by acne scarring. All my boxes checked.
I bought the 5oz jar on Friday and since then I’ve tried it twice. My first application made my face tingle and burn possibly from the lime but when I rinsed away the mask my skin wasn’t irritated. The second application I experienced the tingling and burning sensation again but as I rinsed with warm water my face felt notably smoother unlike the first time where I hardly felt a difference.
To sum it all up though I’d say my first impression of this product is that it does what it says it will. I felt relaxed while using it, probably due to the lavender oil’s calming effects and it left my face smooth after two uses. I’d call that a win. Here are the other ingredients:
Ingredients:
Bentonite clay
Turmeric powder
Apricot exfoliant
Lavender essential oil
Lime essential oil
To complete the testing of this product however, I’ll use it once a week until I need to repurchase. At that point, I’ll be back with an official review and update, hopefully with good news and fresher skin.
That’s it, there you have it my first impression of the renowned turmeric and lime mask.
