My Summer 2019 Favourites

Summer 2019 is finally coming to a close and you know it couldn’t end without me sharing my summer 2019 favourites. It has certainly been a memorable summer for me in more ways than one.
I had the opportunity to test out my first wig, new skincare products and new hair products! I even had my first outdoor photo shoot.
As you can probably tell this summer had a lot of hits! And it was the same in the favourites department and I’ll be sharing them all with you of course.
Here are my summer 2019 favourites:
Turmeric Soaps
The great discovery of 2019. I decided to try turmeric soap after a talk with my co-worker and I have not regretted it. So far I’ve tried 2 different brands. They’re both good but they provide completely different feels on the skin. I’ve tried earth elements turmeric and lime mask and I still use but I had no idea there were turmeric soaps.
I likely didn’t consider it because the turmeric mask didn’t do a whole lot for me. However, upon recent research, I’ve decided to give turmeric another try and it’s been a wonderful experience.
I tried the Nour turmeric and ginger soap first and within 3 days my pimples dried up and my skin has been well behaved ever since. No crazy breakouts. After trying this bar for over a week I was running low and needed another, unfortunately, I was unable to find the same brand. Luckily, I found Keera Organics Turmeric soap with vitamin c and it was quite different in colour and texture compared to the Nour brand but after a few days of thinking it wasn’t working, I noticed my acne scars were still fading.

New wig, who dis?
I want to give my hair a healthy, tension-free break so I decided to partner with a wig company to review their product. A to Z wigs was kind enough to send me a wig to help me achieve my protective styling goals.
The wig is an 8-inch human hair straight bob that I’ve been enjoying. I’ve never worn a wig before but the experience has been good so far. It doesn’t shed much, only one or two strands a day. Mostly due to the hair getting caught in the groove of my glasses. The cap size is notably small, however, so bear that in mind if you choose to purchase this wig. I think I have a pretty big head and it fits fine but it is on the tighter side. It’s not a full lace front wig so it’s not as easy to manoeuvre as a lace front would be but it does have a 13×6 lace and 3 choices of pre-plucked parting space to choose from. It comes pre-styled in a middle part but there are two other parts to the right and left of the middle.
Despite these minor cons this wig still made it into the summer favourites list and I’ll be wearing it well into the future.
Deep Conditioner bae
Next in the list of summer favourites is the Taliah Waajid repair and restore hair strengthening treatment masque which has been an absolute godsend. As soon as it’s applied to my hair it’s absorbed into the strands and after the 15- 30 minutes with a heated cap my hair is butter soft. Found it at my favourite local beauty supply store, Lily’s Beauty Barn in Half Way Tree and it’s become a staple. I’m so in love with the brand that I’m ready to try the other products in the line. If I old I’ll be sure to let you guys know.
This deep treatment masque is moisturizing and it has enough slip for detangling. It’s also very thick so if your hair likes thick products you can give this a try. With the product being thick, a little goes a long way. So this product may last you a few months depending on how often you wash your hair.
Have a great week!

I think I might try the conditioner sounds good. I still can’t bring myself to wear a wig. I go as far as trying them on then I chicken out. I might give it another try.
