Do Turmeric Soaps Really Get Rid Of Acne?

Aren’t we all searching for the right product that will take care of our skin and make our skincare routine a breeze? Just for once we’d like the products we spend our hard-earned money spent to actually work for us in the way we want. Turmeric soaps are no different. Today I’ll discuss whether turmeric soaps really get rid of acne.
What is turmeric?
In the U.S., turmeric is best known as a spice. It’s one of the main components of curry powder. In India and other parts of Asia, turmeric is used to treat many health conditions. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and perhaps even anti-cancer properties. – WebMD
Turmeric is a great natural ingredient to help fight acne and improve your complexion. I highlighted some of the benefits of turmeric in a previous post, you can check that out here.
If you’re following the blog on Instagram you’d have seen that I purchased 2 turmeric-based soaps to test for this post. I tried Nour Natural Turmeric & Ginger Soap and Keera Organics Turmeric Soap and I have a bonus review for you as well.
Why did I decide to test turmeric soaps?
First, a few months ago I realized acne plagued my skin. The acne reoccurring in the same areas and at first I didn’t know why. I thought about my bedding, my diet and everything I could think of. Until one day I decided to research the effects my multivitamin could have on acne and I found the culprit. After a few weeks of reducing my vitamin intake, I had fewer pimples. Pimples finally under control I needed a way to diminish the acne scarring. Then the hunt for turmeric soaps began.
Let the review begin.
Nour Natural Soap
I enjoyed this soap. Turmeric was evenly dispersed throughout it. My skin felt smooth after each use. I did notice some lightening of my skin blemishes and I glowed. I would definitely repurchase.
Keera Organics Soap
This soap had turmeric chunks in it. Apart from this, it was a pretty large bar of soap but I couldn’t quite finish it because my skin was not impressed. This particular brand of turmeric soap gave me little to no acne relief.
As much as I wanted it to work, it didn’t. The brand stocks a wide variety of soaps so you can try any of the others.
True and Natural Soap
I searched high and low to find the turmeric soap in this line to no avail. With no luck, I decided to test out the cocoa and coffee one and again I’m was not impressed. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the bar of soap and would not repurchase.
Please note that this particular soap made no claims of getting rid of acne.
Nevertheless, I’m still willing to give their turmeric soaps (turmeric & ginger/ turmeric and citrus) a try.
After testing out these soaps and deducing which ingredients worked and which didn’t I now present to you my very own brand of turmeric soap. The Glow Bar is aptly named for its skin brightening and acne-fighting capabilities.
Glow bars are currently available in my online skin care store on Instagram @simplyluxebotanicals. Be sure to click the link below and follow the page.
Ultimately, I’d say yes turmeric soaps do help to get rid of acne. If you’re looking for a gentle, all-natural alternative to major brands you have quite a few small soap businesses to choose from.
Thanks for reading.
Have a great week.
