Wax Aftercare: How To Not Get Ingrown Hairs

So you’ve faced your fears and gotten waxed and you want to learn how to care for your new landscape. Look no further. I’ve got you.
First of all, congratulations on getting your first wax. Also, congratulations if it’s your umpteenth wax I’m here for you too.
Let me soothe your fears and say the hardest part is over. But a freshly waxed bikini line is delicate. Taking proper care of the area is crucial to having a successful waxing experience.

Most waxing studios will provide you with standard waxing aftercare tips but if you’ve forgotten here’s a reminder:

As you can see there’s no mention of ingrown hairs in sight. So after much research, I formulated a regimen that works for me that I hope will help you as well.
Products I Use
The products I use are simple and affordable. I use witch hazel, tea tree oil and olive oil.

How To Use The Products
After showering and drying take a cotton swab and apply a liberal amount of witch hazel to it. Then use the cotton swab to gently wipe the affected area. Allow the witch hazel to dry then follow up with a mix of tea tree and your favourite carrier oil. My personal favourite that I always have on hand is olive oil. When creating your oil mixture remember to adequately dilute the tea tree oil. For every 1 to 2 drops of tea tree oil, add 12 drops of carrier oil.
Tea tree oil should not be applied directly to the skin.
I use this regimen religiously after every shower for the first week after my wax. After that, I can go without it for a few days in between. I’d suggest continuing this regimen until your hair starts to grow back, that way you can see it at work.
My favourite waxing spot is Adam and Eve Day Spa. You can find them at 56 Old Hope Road Kingston, Jamaica.

It got my attention when you said that the use of tea tree oil for the first week after a wax service could prevent ingrown hairs. Maybe, my sister will find this tip helpful because she has been interested in getting a bikini waxing service before this month ends. I will ask her to follow your tips so she can do the right aftercare routine for her bikini area.
