Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Review

The Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser is fast becoming the best cleanser I have ever used and here’s why.

What is it?

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser is an antioxidant rich jelly cleaner that claims to lift away impurities from the skin without leaving it dry and tight.

Who is the head honcho in charge?

The brand, Krave Beauty was developed by popular skincare Influencer/ YouTuber Liah Yoo whose simple, nurturing ideologies on skincare transformed her own skin and that of many of her followers.

Admittedly I was drawn to the simplicity of the products and the idea of listening to skin instead of overworking it with acids.

What’s in the product?

The Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser promises to be completely vegan, cruelty free and void of fragrances and essential oils.

The main ingredients in each bottle are:

Matcha – an antioxidant which helps to protect your skin from damaging free radicals.

Hemp Seed Oil – seals in moisture

Oats – soothes and calms skin

Almonds- rich in vitamin-E moisturizes and softens the skin. Also has neutralizing capabilities for free radicals.

Vitamin B5 + Sodium PCA – helps your skin absorb moisture from the atmosphere

My experience

One of the major differences I have noticed in my skin since I switched cleansers is the smoothness and softness. My previous cleanser provided me with smoothness as well but with the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I’ve noticed a longer lasting effect.

It does a great job of unclogging my pores. White heads came popping out with no effort and no exfoliation. While I don’t expect this to be a lasting effect I couldn’t help but share that unusual change.

This cleanser is a jelly consistency and lightly foams with the addition of water and creates a sufficient lather for the entire face. the lather feels light and silky on the skin. It doesn’t have a fragrance but it does have a slight smell. to me it smells like hemp or something very natural and green. Within the jelly I spotted little specks of what I’m assuming to be matcha but though I could see the specks I didn’t feel them.

Does it dry out the skin?

A lot of products claim to not leave your skin dry and tight and very few in my experience have met the mark. In fact I don’t think I’ve had a cleanser that leaves my face ‘hydrated’. However the Krave beauty cleanser comes close. While I wouldn’t just cleanse my face and go without moisturizing. My face is not as tight as with other cleansers nor is it overly dry.

I’d say this is the closest I’ve come to having a cleanser be hydrating.

When do I use this cleanser?

Primarily this cleanser is a part of my morning skincare routine but if I’m ever going in for a wash during the daytime I will choose it again. However for night time I’ll use a cleanser with salicylic acid.

Cost

A product of this calibre could easily command a price tag of $20 and above but at $16 I think it’s well priced and with the results I’ve been having I’d say it’s worth every dollar.

For $16 you get just above 4 ounces of product and with all my other skincare products a little goes a long way. I’m planning to get 3 months’ worth of use out of this product.

Packaging

Love the simple packaging design it’s sleek and clean and most importantly recyclable.  It feels luxurious all while being completely sustainable.

Overall thoughts

All in all for a tube of healthy skin nourishing ingredients the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser takes the win. It’s easy to lather and even easier to wash off. A little product goes a long way and your skin is balanced and nourished and ready for your next skincare step. Did I mention how smooth it leaves the skin?
