2 Tasty Anti-Acne Drinks For Clear, Glowing Skin

You’ve probably heard someone say skincare is an inside job and you might have even shrugged them off because you’ve seen countless people with clear skin eat unhealthily. And that was me too not too long ago. For a long time I was able to eat and drink whatever I wanted without waking up to multiple pimples on my face. But all of that changed last year when I had my first unpleasant dance with cystic acne. But lately, I’ve been evaluating the impact of the food I eat on my skin and I’ve found two easy to make anti-acne drinks that I can count on for clearer skin.

Anti-acne Drinks – Drink #1
Green Juice Blend
Store bought green juice- a lifesaver The ingredients
I started making green drinks because I wanted to get all my skin-nourishing vitamins (vitamins E, A & C) naturally and green leafy vegetables are jam-packed with the stuff.
Here’s the breakdown of how each vitamin helps the skin. Vitamin A speeds up healing in the skin, promotes natural moisturizing as well as prevent breakouts. While vitamin C and E promote collagen production- to keep you looking younger and their antioxidant properties protect skin from free radicals from sun exposure.
All you’ll need for this is your choice of green leafy vegetable and a fruit you enjoy to ease the green taste and voila you have a vitamin and iron-rich drink that’s bound to give you your best glow.
Ingredients
Callaloo/ Spinach/Kale/ Pak Choi
Pineapple/Apple/ or citrus preferred fruit
Lemon/Lime
Ginger
Directions
Blend all ingredients together, strain (or don’t if you don’t mind the grit) and enjoy over ice.
Make a big batch and have a cup a day to start your mornings off right! Recently, I found a store-bought substitute that helps me get through the busy weeks.
Anti-Acne Drinks – Drink #2
Turmeric Latte
I have been enjoying the green juice blend for a few months but this drink was newer to me. I’ve had some turmeric powder sitting in my cupboard with the intention of using it to make a body wash but I thought why not try it as a tea as I’ve seen my parents do countless times.
The idea came to me to make it into a latte and with a quick internet search I found that the idea was a pretty popular. Great minds right?
The benefits of turmeric for the body is extensive and the benefits for skin care are some of my favourite. When used externally in the form of soaps and masks turmeric can lighten dark marks, soothe inflammation and fight acne-causing bacteria. When consumed internally the same benefits hold true. Add in that it slows the aging process, helps heal dry skin and it can help with other skin ailments like eczema and psoriasis and you have the superfood of skincare in this next drink.
Ingredients
Turmeric
Ginger
Cayenne pepper
Oat Milk / your preferred non-dairy milk
Brown sugar/ your preferred sweetener
